2011 Dodge Avenger
Dodge is pitching the new Avenger as something "beyond your average midsize sedan" with aggressive style and fun-to-drive appeal, The Car Connection reports.
The newly revealed 2011 Dodge Avenger boasts "the most powerful engine in it's class as well as a host of other upgrades," said Autoguide.com.
"A new base 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine joins the lineup, while the optional V6 boasts 283 best-in-class horsepower, plus a significant 260 ft-lbs of torque," Autoguide.com reported. " But Dodge didn't just toss in some extra power, they've also significantly revised the car's suspension" with a wider track and lower center of gravity, the story said.
The Car Connection said the new interior is what "really shines." The new Avenger gets all-new instrument panel, bezels, steering wheels, upgraded seats with improved upholstery and several new two-tone schemes, the website said.
KickingTires.com described the update as a "significant midcycle refresh" and said the exterior styling updates bring the car more in line with the new Dodge "look".
The 2011 Dodge Avenger will be built at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Sterling Heights Michigan.
Dodge Revives 392 Hemi in Challenger
The 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 marks the return of the 392 cubic inch HEMI V-8,

Just when you thought Dodge was going to ignore the HEMI in the face of polically correct "fuel miserliness," the biggest series-production HEMI V-8 just got bigger, Car and Driver reported. All 392 "glorious cubic inches" will be found first in the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, Car and Driver noted.
The SRT engineers also have given the Challenger's chassis some help with new damplers accompnies by revised suspension geometry, Car and Driver reported. The steering now is quicker too and uses a heavy-duty hydraulic pump that's said to offer more feel, particularly on center, the magazine said.
To kick off the new model year, Chrysler Group plans to build 1,492 Inaugural Edition models of the Challenger SRT8 392, which receives a significant power boost over the current 6.1 liter HEMI, The Detroit News reported. The special edition Challengers, made in Brampton, Ontario, will be offered in blue or white with full body stripes, ride on 20 inch SRT exclusive wheels and sport special "392 HEMI" badges, the paper said.
